Current positions

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mass Spectrometry

The Institute’s mass spectrometry facility consists of two state of the art LC-MS systems; AB-Sciex Triple TOF™ 5600 mass spectrometer with a nano-flow Dionex-LC plus an AB-Sciex QTRAP 5500 with a Dionex-LC. The successful applicant will maintain and operate the instruments and therefore will have a strong background and experience in LC-MS and LC-MS/MS applications particularly in proteomics, phosphoproteomics, TOF-MS and metabolite quantification.

Experience in sample preparation techniques, expertise in protein chemistry with experience in instrument operation and trouble shooting for both LC and mass spectrometers is essential.  Familiarity with software applications (ProteinPilot, Multiquant, Markerview, MetabolitePilot and Lipidview) is desirable.

The position allows for the opportunity to develop a successful independent research career as well as strong intra-institutional collaborations.  A high level of motivation, excellent communication skills in English language and a strong level of publication appropriate for career stage are required.

AU $68,00-$90,000 per annum, depending upon experience and track record.

Other benefits include additional 9% superannuation and generous salary packaging taxation offset.

SVI will sponsor a successful international candidate for an Australian work Visa for up to 4 years.
