SVI supporters joined together in the beautiful Myer Mural Hall on the 21st of July to hear about the importance of medical research in the fight against diseases such as type 1 diabetes.
Seated in the newly re-vamped Myer Mural Hall, guests heard from SVI’s Director, Professor Tom Kay, about the importance of medical research and specifically, the goals of his team – a world where type 1 diabetes can be treated without insulin injections.The Hon Tony Abbott praised the work of the researchers at SVI and spoke of the importance of philanthropy in helping to support initiatives such as SVI’s Childhood Diabetes Appeal.Thanks to generous support, $23,037 was raised at the luncheon.
