Teeing up for SVI

November 10th, 2011

The 2011 SVI/Newcrest Mining Charity Golf Day, held on the 17th of October at Albert Park Golf Course, raised $105,000 to support heart research at SVI. One hundred and thirty two players from 24 different companies were involved on the day.
The funds raised will help our researchers find new strategies for the prevention and treatment of heart disease, which affects nearly 4 million Australians. SVI researchers are investigating the mechanisms of heart disease and ways to help identify those at increased risk so that they can be given treatment to prevent it occurring.
Thanks to our Gold Sponsor, Newcrest Mining, our Silver Sponsors, BMW Melbourne, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Jayco, The Melbourne Racing Club, Sinapse and all of our Bronze Sponsors for their support.
Ausenco were the winners of the SVI Jack Holt Newcrest Mining Trophy, with Deloitte’s as runners up.
Greg Robinson, CEO of Newcrest Mining, said of the day: “Newcrest is proud to sponsor the event for SVI and very pleased that many of our suppliers chose to be involved. We look forward to being involved next year.”
