Our Summer 2019 Newsletter - the final for the year - doesn't disappoint. SVI Director, Professor Tom Kay, has more insights into the impact of medical research at SVI specifically, and Melbourne in general. In addition, we update you on some of our current research projects in Lupus and Alzheimer's disease, and highlight our role in treating patients with chronic, hereditary pancreatitis.
You'll meet some of our researchers and students, including a Fulbright Scholar from the US, who has been making the most of her time working in the Genome Stability Unit.
We like to acknowledge our incredible supporters whenever and wherever we can, and have dedicated an article to the 30th anniversary of the SVI Support Group. We wrap up with some highlights from our annual Food Matters Event, which focused on the Mediterranean Diet this year, and visits from high schools Siena College and Genazzano FCJ College, during National Science Week.
To quote Tom Kay, "As the year comes to a close, on behalf of everyone at SVI, I would like to thank you all for your support, which is key to the success of our research. I wish you and your families a happy holiday season and look forward to keeping in touch in the year to come."
