  • Undergraduate internships and work experience

SVI internships bring together undergraduates, eager to get their hands dirty in a working lab, with skilled and enthusiastic researchers at the top of their game and focused on transforming health. Our internships are designed to help you develop the skills, experience and knowledge you need to take the next step in your career.

SVI student internships can take place during the summer and winter breaks or during the regular university term:

    • SVI Summer Internships occur during December and January for a total of six weeks on a full-time basis with a stipend of $2,400.
    • SVI Winter Internships are held in July for a total of 4 weeks on a full-time basis with a stipend of $1,600.
    • Placement in a lab for a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Program is arranged as per the university requirements (note: university credit is provided in lieu of a stipend).

To be considered for an SVI  summer/winter internship or to obtain a lab placement as part of a university WIL Program, prospective students need to contact SVI Lab Heads via email to arrange a meeting with them to discuss the availability of internships and WIL placements in their lab.

A link to laboratory projects and lab head emails can be found here.

The application form for the SVI Summer/Winter Internship and WIL placement, which requires a lab head to sponsor the student, can be found here
