A spirit of camaraderie and purpose filled the air as supporters, sponsors, and scientists came together for the 16th SVI Golf Day at Kew Golf Club – an event that raised more than $110,000 for the cutting-edge research taking place at SVI.
Michael Burn, SVI Chair, shared his gratitude for the many hands that made the day possible:
“The success of today’s event is a testament to the incredible passion and generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. It’s always inspiring to see the community rally around the Institute’s mission.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to this year’s sponsors:
- Platinum Sponsor: Angle Auto Finance
- Gold Sponsor: DBiz
- Silver Sponsors: Peninsula Dealer Group, Maxxia, Allianz, Cube Networks, and Elephant in the Boardroom
- Bronze Sponsors: Drummond Golf, NIDO, BMW, GS1, Booran Motors, DB Results, BP, Amidata, EML Payments (also our Golf Ball Sponsor), BlackBox ANZ, Triforce, and Escala Partners
- Refreshment Sponsor: MotorOne Group
Among the 120 players on the green were some of SVI’s leading researchers, including SVI Director Professor Tom Kay, Associate Professor Davis McCarthy, Associate Professor Wayne Crismani, and Dr Chris Langendorf – as well as SVI Foundation Chair, Jeremy Gobbo KC and board member Michael Wachtel. SVI also welcomed cricket legend, Damien Flemming, and comedian/actor, Peter Helliar.
Special recognition was also given to the Golf Day Committee – Michael Burn, Mark Kerr, Bernadette Dennis OAM, Jeni Coutts, Dan Giesen-White, Simon Haidar and Barry Holbrook – for their commitment and energy in bringing the event to life.
“While today is a great chance to connect and enjoy some time out on the course,” said Michael, “it’s also a reminder of the important research we’re here to support – work that has real impact on people’s lives.”
