PhD student Kangni Zou chose SVI after studying medicine and completing a master’s degree in obstetrics and gynaecology in China.
“After seeing brave patients battling ovarian cancer, I was inspired to focus on leading-edge research to help find new treatments.
“I’m proud to be working in Associate Professor Elaine Sanij’s team, and I’m grateful for the Top-up Scholarship that I received,” says Kangni.
Students commencing full-time PhD research at SVI are provided with a Top-up Scholarship, funded through the activities of the SVI Support Group and other donors.
There are currently 53 PhD students completing their training at SVI. Since its inception in 1989, more than 120 students have benefited from SVI’s Top-up Scholarship Program.
The generosity of our donors enables SVI to support emerging talent in medical research and continue making groundbreaking discoveries.
